PAO at the 37th Singapore- Malaysia Joint Meeting in Ophthalmology highlights

Academia, Singapore- It was a busy, yet fulfilling time for members and members- in-training of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology who attended the 2nd Global Young Ophthalmology Summit and the 37th Singapore- Malaysia Summit held last January 19-21, 2024.

Highlights:

PAO President Mary Ellen Sy delivered a lecture entitled “Evolution of Refractive Surgery in a Philippine Eye Center” on the Joint Singapore Society and ASEAN Ophthalmology Society Symposium Eye Care Delivery- A Holistic Perspective session co-chaired by PAO Past- President Dr. Ruben Lim Bon Siong.
PAO Past- President Dr. Sherman Valero presenting his video entitled “Combined PP + Iris Claw IOL for Management of Aphakia in the Surgical Video Symposium session.
Philippine Network of Young Ophthalmologists Head Dr. Charisse Ann Tanlapco (the author) presented her side at the 2nd YO Global Symposium Oculoplastics Debates Session, with her presentation points winning the audience poll.
Dr. Tonicci Paulino, with Dr. Lana Datuashvili, as expert panelists during the 2nd YO Global Symposium Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Debates Session.
PAO President Dr. Ellen Sy, PAO- Past President Dr. Ruben Lim Bon Siong and PAO Councilor/ PiNoY Head Dr. Charisse Tanlapco sharing insights with other International Leaders at the Faculty Dinner at the SKAI Suites.
